TWO SUPER POLES AND A POINTS FINISH FOR MAHINDRA RACING IN BERLIN

6 August 2020, Berlin, Germany – The Season Six Finale – six races in just nine days to wrap up the ABB Formula E season – kicked off with two Super Poles and a points finish for the Mahindra Racing team.

The opening two races took place on a circuit that was familiar to the team, but with a twist, as the circuit ran in a clockwise direction. This marked the first time that a track from an international circuit racing championship has been run in reverse.

Ahead of round six of the Championship, Jérôme D’Ambrosio took his third Super Pole of the season and qualified in P6. In a hard fought race, which saw some close battles at the front of the pack, he claimed P5 and ten Championship points. Alex Lynn had a more challenging first race following his P12 in qualifying. At the start he moved up to P10 and held position but following a safety car period began to drop through the field, before eventually finishing the race in P16.

Round seven saw a reversal of fortunes in qualifying with Alex Lynn securing Super Pole. An incredible lap saw him post the third quickest lap time, whilst Jérôme D’Ambrosio qualified in P14. Unfortunately, both drivers struggled with race pace and dropped through the field with Alex taking the chequered flag just outside of the points in P11 and Jerome finishing in P15. Jerome was later disqualified from the race after it was deemed by the Stewards that the total energy used during the race was over the regulatory limit.

Round eight takes place on Saturday 8th August.
