5 Times Mahindra Racing Drivers were Adventurous off the Track
Posted on: 02 April, 2019
Mahindra Racing's a team that likes to race hard and party even harder. And the best part is, every driver we’ve had so far, has only added to our collective appetite for thrill. While Nick’s a multipotentialite, Felix has been living on the edge. Our current duo Jérôme and Pascal too follow suit with undimming enthusiasm.
While they've been performers on track, our race car drivers have been just as daring off the Formula E circuit. Here’s a look at five exciting moments when Mahindra Racing drivers shrugged off their inhibitions (if at all!) and shot for thrill –
1. Quick Nick gets adventurous with food
Being zippy on the track is one thing. But, Nick proved his mettle on the dining table too! Ahead of the 2018 Paris E-Prix, he took up the challenge of finding and finishing a full course meal in the city of love, which is also the city of Nick’s only passion second to racing – good food! The 3.45 Food Challenge meant that he had exactly 3 hours, 45 minutes to scout for the three best-in-their-league eateries in town, and finish a course complete with starters, cocktails, main course and dessert. A good warm-up before the lights went green? We think so. Click to watch below –
2. Watching Fast Felix fly
A skydive just one day before a race? Most people wouldn't dare to do it. But our multiple race-winner Felix Rosenqvist is a true thrill seeker! Ahead of the 2018 Berlin E-Prix, he was challenged by teammate Nick to go diving in the clouds. And, with Google Daydream, the adrenaline junkie was caught in action. 3. Two left feet? Naah!
While in India, do as Bollywood does. It was racer Jérôme D’Ambrosio’s first visit to Mumbai and passioneer Gul Panag decided to surprise him, Team Advisor Nick Heidfeld and Team Principal Dilbagh Gill, with a truly extraordinary experience. From breaking up a wedding, to shaking a leg to a Hindi song, and acting in a movie – it was a full adventure packed in a day. Watch them do the kabja –
4. Interview format gone risqué
Before the 2018/19 ABB FIA Formula E Championship started, Mahindra Racing decided to get to know our two new drivers a bit better. But instead of a regular Q&A format, we decided to throw in a bit of adventure – find out their deepest, darkest secrets!

5. Senna challenges Speed
We knew our drivers are mavericks. So, we took it to the next level. Formula E and Mahindra Racing together came up with The Chase in Season 2. Our driver Bruno Senna went head-to-head against fellow racing driver Scott Speed. While the latter took to the wheel of a Formula E car, our driver Senna raced using a drone. And if all of that wasn't enough…
(Bonus!) Nick Heidfeld sets another Goodwood Festival of Speed record
The ex-Formula 1 driver and Mahindra Racing champ has become a permanent part of the family, with him now taking on an advisory role in the team. Nick has been winning our hearts with his performances for a long time. Remember his 41.6 second hill climb record in 1999? In 2017, as a Mahindra Racing driver, Nick set yet another record for the fastest open-wheel electric car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, beating Sébastien Buemi's time from the year before.
