Job Description

Purpose of the Role:

The IT Analyst will be responsible for supporting end users while they are in the business. This could be remotely or deskside with the colleague. You will also be partly responsible for supporting the virtual server and network infrastructure that underpins the company’s operations.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Management of end user computing assets

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential

  • Extensive knowledge of both Microsoft Desktop and Server OS

  • Daily VMWare/vSphere operational skills

Desirable

  • VMWare VCP qualification
  • Microsoft Certification (MCSE/MCSA/MOS)
  • Corporate backup solutions (Veeam / Commvault)
  • Fortinet NGFW experience

Simulator Development Engineer

Job Description

Purpose of the Role:
  • Maintenance and Development of Mahindra in-house DIL simulators
  • Improve documentation and understanding of existing DIL systems
  • Fault diagnosis and fix
Key Accountabilities:
  • Configure and operate the DIL simulators during race preparation, on event
    race support and development sessions
  • Assist with DIL development and maintenance, both hardware and software
  • Assist with the development and documentation of DIL operating procedures
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential

  • A degree in an engineering discipline
  • Development of real time software using Simulink / Stateflow
  • Experience developing and maintaining distributed real time systems
  • Knowledge of ethernet and CAN protocols and associated diagnostic tools
  • Knowledge of internet protocols

Desirable

  • Experience developing and operating DIL/HIL simulators
  • Experience with any of the following:
    a. rFactor
    b. Canopy
    c. Vector Canoe
  • Experience developing/calibrating vehicle and tire models

Simulator Engineer/ DIL Operator

Purpose of the Role:
  • We require a Simulator Engineer to join our driver-in-the-loop (DIL) simulator team. This person can be a recent grad or a highly experienced DIL Operator, we are open to the level of seniority for the person to take on this role
Key Accountabilities:
  • Configure and operate the DIL simulators during race preparation, on event
    race support and development sessions
  • Assist with DIL development and maintenance, both hardware and software
  • Assist with the development and documentation of DIL operating procedures
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential

  • A degree in a numerate discipline
  • Familiarity with electronic systems, both hardware and software
  • Basic knowledge of ethernet and CAN protocols
  • Familiarity with race car vehicle dynamics
  • Some knowledge of race car sensors and wiring
  • Ability to read and understand Matlab/Simulink

Desirable

  • Experience operating and/or developing DIL/HIL simulators
  • Knowledge of real time embedded software development

  • Support the senior strategy engineer with event preparation
  • Prepare pre and post event reports
  • Assist with the specification, development and test of software tools to
    support race energy management
  • Provide remote support for strategy activities at race events
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential

  • A degree in a numerate discipline
  • Working knowledge of at least one programming language
  • A demonstrable interest in race car energy management and race strategy
  • Experience with real-time simulation and modelling environments is an advantage

Tyre Science Engineer

Job Description

Purpose of the Role:
  • Working as part of the Simulation Group and reporting to the Head of Simulation, the factory-based role of Tyre Dynamics Engineer will lead key areas of tyre analysis and on-track optimisation
Key Accountabilities:
  • Lead the development and application of a tyre physics analysis, modelling and optimisation toolkit for both offline and track environments
  • Deliver the programme for optimal tyre usage across race events, working closely with the Race Engineering team to define and achieve peak tyre performance
  • Define, lead, and execute the specification of evaluation programs for tyre characterisation and correlation, including rig and track testing (where permitted)
  • Work closely with the Principal Simulation Engineer to aid in the characterisation, implementation and validation of subsystem models within offline, HiL and DiL environments
  • Liaise with external model and data suppliers to provide best-in-class tyre modelling and analysis capability
  • Work closely with the simulation and race engineering teams to provide event support for DiL sessions, test days and track events
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Previous experience within a dedicated tyre science role or tyre-focused vehicle dynamics role is a key requirement
  • Strong grounding in tyre physics
  • Demonstrable mastery of tyre test and correlation best practice
  • Capability in subsystem modelling using Simulink
  • Experience with the development or use of HiL and DiL systems will be of benefit
  • Experience with real-time simulation and modelling environments is an advantage

Controls Engineer

Job Description

Purpose of the Role:
  • Support development of the Mahindra on-car control software builds and developments
  • Integrate with the wider engineering group to plan, implement, test and deploy to the track changes to the car control systems code
  • Development of code build, test and sign off tool chain and processes
  • Support code testing using all tools available (HiL, DiL, Dyno and car)
  • Assist with all aspects of the car software and associated tools development (HiL/DiL etc.)
Key Accountabilities:
  • Develop software functions for Mahindra Racing FE race car
    • From requirements documentation through to code implementation, test, calibration and sign off
    • Primarily in Simulink/Stateflow Matlab Scripting and C Code
    • Code will be developed for multiple different on-car ECUs
    • Supporting powertrain partners development team for the integration and control of all powertrain systems
    • Tasks will include small, maintenance tasks through to larger software development items
    • Code test and sign off using HiL, DiL and the test car
    • Providing support and ideas for the development of the race car control systems
  • Event Support
    • Possibility to support during race weekends for control systems from the factory
    • Develop to providing occasional and backup trackside event support
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Embedded, real time software development using Simulink/Stateflow. Experience in embedded C is beneficial
  • Understanding of modelling and simulation and the ability to support maintenance and development of HiL and DiL rig systems
  • An understanding of electronics and wiring would be useful as this role may involve supporting modifications to HiL or DiL rigs (including Vector CAPL)
  • PC software covering one or more of excel scripting, VB or C++ or C#
