MAHINDRA RACING SETS SIGHTS ON FOURTH PODIUM IN MEXICO

The 2018/19 ABB FIA Formula E Championship resumes in Mexico City on Saturday and Mahindra Racing has its sights firmly set on making it four out of four podiums in Season 5. Heading to Mexico, the squad remains second in the manufacturer’s battle with Jérôme D’Ambrosio second in the driver’s championship.

It will be the fourth consecutive year Formula E has visited the iconic Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit; not only it one of the fastest tracks on the calendar, it’s also the highest at 2500m above sea level. Pascal Wehrlein, fresh from his second-place podium in Santiago, will once again be at the wheel of the #94 M5Electro, with Jérôme D’Ambrosio piloting his racewinning #64 car.

Following the race, the ABB FIA Formula E Championship will see its third in-season test take place on Sunday 17 February. Mahindra Racing will run its two M5Electro cars; known as ‘Falcon’ and ‘Electro McElectroFace’ with Jérôme and Pascal at the wheel.

“We’ve had a couple of different style tracks so far this season and the car has been working well, so I expect it to work just as well in Mexico. We’ve had three straight podiums collectively as a team and we shouldn’t be aiming for anything less than that this weekend. Pascal and myself have already shown that we can fight at the front and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.”

Jérôme D'Ambrosio

“I’m looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of the car and going racing again. I feel confident with the performance of the M5Electro and the team; the results have been good so far, but there’s always room for improvement. Although I’m familiar with Mexico, it’s a new track layout and I’ve been working hard in the simulator to get up to speed. In terms of a realistic race result – anything is realistic!”
