Season 7 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship got underway in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, last weekend. Mahindra Racing opened its points account with a solid performance in Friday’s race. Here’s our other ‘Fast Facts’ from the opening rounds:
 
1: At least one Mahindra Racing driver has scored in the opening race of the season for all seven Formula E seasons, a feat which is not matched by any other team.

2: Alexander Sims becomes the fifth Mahindra driver to score on their debut for the team, having picked up a seventh-place finish in the opening race of the season.
 
3: Alex Lynn has qualified in the top ten of the last seven E-Prixs, the current longest streak on the grid.

4: A Mahindra driver has now reached Super Pole in at least one race of every season since the rule was introduced in Season 2, a record held by only three other Formula E teams.
 
5: Alexander Sims has now finished all of the last eight E-Prixs, the longest finishing streak in the British driver’s Formula E career.

6: Alex Lynn has outqualified his teammate in the last five E-Prixs, the longest streak that Lynn has gone on.
 
7: Alex Lynn was only one of two drivers to qualify in the top ten of both races in Diriyah. The other was fellow Brit Sam Bird.

8: Mahindra Racing has had at least one car qualify in the top ten of 58 E-Prixs (81.7%), which is more than any other team.
 
9: For the first time in Formula E, Mahindra Racing are fielding two drivers of the same nationality.
 
10: Season 7 is the fifth Formula E season in which Alex Lynn has raced at least one race in. However, it is only the second time in which the British driver has raced the opening race of the season (the other occasion being the Season 4 opening race in Hong Kong).
