Team Principal & CEO

Dilbagh Gill is CEO and Team Principal of the Mahindra Racing team and was appointed ahead of its inaugural season in 2014/15. Mahindra Racing is one of ten founding teams – and the only Indian team – to compete in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship. Dilbagh has built his team from the ground up which has led to multiple race victories and podiums.

With more than two decades of experience working in technology and business development and a Tech Mahindra family member for over 10 years, Dilbagh developed unique sporting technology practices that led him to working on high-profile programmes including Project Manager of FIFA World Cup and A1GP ahead of his work with Mahindra Racing.


Team Manager

David joined Mahindra Racing following his role as Team Manager at the championship winning DS Techeetah Formula E Team. Prior to that he undertook management roles at the Mercedes AMG DTM Team and River Rouge Consulting, a performance improvement practice for the Automotive, Rail and General Manufacturing Sector. He has also fulfilled roles at McLaren Group and Mercedes-Benz.

Lewis Butler

Technical Director

Lewis joined Mahindra Racing in 2015 and is the technical lead on the Formula E programme. His role means he oversees the technical parts of the programme, ensuring the car meets all technical regulations and is correctly homologated and, of course, working on maximising the performance of the race cars.



Motorsport veteran Paul Willett brings more than 20 years industry experience with him and made the transition to Formula E ahead of the 2019/20 season from his previous roles in teams involved in the World Endurance Championship, Blancpain Endurance Series and the Asian Le Mans Series.


Chief Race Engineer

Toni joined the team ahead of Season 6 as Chief Race Engineer and is present trackside at every event. Toni is an experienced engineer in motorsport. He was Fernando Alonso’s race engineer when the double World Champion took the Open Fortuna by Nissan title with Campos Racing in 1999. He has worked with the Ferrari, BMW Sauber, Super Aguri and HRT F1 teams and he has also worked in World Touring Cars and DTM.


Head of Powertrain

Angus has a background in Formula 1 and automotive engineering and heads up the powertrain development programme for the team. He is in charge of the entire powertrain from a software and electronics perspective. He also has a future focus, part of a key team researching and identifying technologies for use in forthcoming seasons.


Race Engineer #94 M6Electro

Cyril is Pascal Wehrlein’s race engineer and is brand new to Mahindra Racing in Season 5. His role is to make the M5Electro as quick as possible for the conditions given: track layout, grip, temperatures and a huge variety of other factors for race day. Cyril has a background including Formula 2 and GP3 engineering positions.


Race Engineer #64 M6Electro

Tom has a wealth of experience in race engineering and joined the team from five years at Strakka Racing, which competed in the Blancpain Endurance Series and Intercontinental GT Challenge. Prior to that he fulfilled roles at the Status Grand Prix GP3 team, Double R Racing, Ocean Racing Technology and David Price Racing.


Head of Simulation

A key cog in the Mahindra Racing machine, Juan worked in the world of Formula 1 for almost two decades before embarking on his new role as the head of simulation for Mahindra Racing, which involves him running the simulator programme at the team's base in Banbury, which is an important part of race preparation and wrap up.
